ゼミ生が「エコサイド（ecocide）」に関するワークショップイベントを開催しました。

「エコサイド」は、ECO（「家」）と CIDE（「殺す」）を組み合わせた造語で、私たちの住む自然世界への大規模な損害やその破壊を表しています。このような環境破壊を止めるため、「エコサイド」を国際犯罪とするための運動が行われています。このイベントでは、Stop Ecocide Internationalの共同創設者であるJojo Mehta氏によるオンラインの特別講演に加え、ワークショップや展示会も行いました。

この「エコサイド」について日本で初めて開催されたイベントには、APUの学内でも学生だけでなく教職員にも対面でご参加いただき、APU以外の大学からも多くの参加者にオンラインで参加していただきました。

3rd-year seminar students hosted a workshop event on ecocide.

The term "ecocide" was coined to describe the mass damage and destruction of our natural living world, a combination of the word ECO ("house") + CIDE (to "kill"). To stop this destructive behaviour, the first steps were already taken to make ecocide an international crime.The event consisted of a special online guest talk by Stop Ecocide International's Co-Founder Jojo Mehta, interactive workshops, and exhibitions.

The event was the first in Japan to discuss about "ecocide" as an international crime.
